Hey Team! I’m excited to get this done! I think we have the drive to do it quickly and efficiently!

I agree that we should do technology. Posting the references by Tuesday is perfect for me.

I think we should break down the topics and since we have 4 people (or is Amy still in? maybe 5 people?) We should each do 3-4 slides each? Is that about right?

Instructions from the syllabus are to include:
"a description of the trend, its history, its impact on schools, and an analysis of its future”

So, some proposed topics for slides that we each could work on are (3-4 slides ea):
1. How is technology used in schools today?
2. History: When was technology introduced into schools?
3. How has technology improved productivity?
4. Technology predictions for years to come?

These are obviously very basic examples, but I just want to get the ball rolling. Please let me know what you think about these topics. I think we should assign topics by the end of the day, if possible (by Sunday, 10/14/07). Then we can do the research and post the references by Tuesday, 10/16/07.

I would like to do:
2. History: When was technology introduced into schools?

Don't remember how old everyone is, but my sister took a computer class around '71, and it was so basic. I used punch cards when I took a programming course in college (~ '78). My first programming class we used a teletype (I think this was what it was called).

Of course we will use references, but I can relate to it since I lived through it.

I would be glad to put together the PowerPoint presentation once everyone has submitted their piece.
I am pretty good at cutting out wordiness.

Jeanne,

If you want to take on "history" that sounds great! I volunteer to take "how technology has increased productivity in schools" if that's okay with everyone else.

Thanks for volunteering to put together the slides. The prof said we can make one slide the reference page also. So, we can all post our slides as text format, and then you can propose a rough draft PPT that we can all review.

You are welcome. :)

Submitting the text to put into the rough presentation sounds good! :) Jeanne

Sounds great Jeanne. Thanks for volunteering.

What format would you like us to send your information - do you prefer Word or just in a post or on actual slides?

I'll put together the references - Jeanne can put in the slides??

I will take: How is technology used in schools today?
